Effect of Battery Electric Vehicles on Greenhouse Gas Emissions in 29 European Union Countries

نویسندگان

چکیده

This analysis explored the effect of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) on greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) in a panel twenty-nine countries from European Union (EU) 2010 to 2020. The method moments quantile regression (MM-QR) was used, and ordinary least squares with fixed effects (OLSfe) used verify robustness results. MM-QR support that all three quantiles, economic growth causes positive impact GHGs. In 50th 75th energy consumption BEVs 25th, 50th, quantiles have negative OLSfe reveals has GHGs, which contradicts results MM-QR. Energy positively impacts negatively Although EU supported more sustainable transport system, accelerating adoption still requires effective political planning achieve net-zero emissions. Thus, are an important technology reduce GHGs targets decarbonising sector. research topic can open policy discussion between industry, government, researchers, towards ensuring provide climate change mitigation pathway region.

The Value Relevance of Greenhouse Gas Emissions under the European Union Carbon Emissions Trading Scheme

This study examines the valuation relevance of greenhouse gas emissions under the European Union Carbon Emission Trading Scheme (EU ETS). We posit that carbon emissions affect firm valuation only to the extent that a firm’s emissions exceed its carbon allowances under a cap and trade system and the extent of its inability to pass on carbon related compliance costs to consumers and end users. We...

Well-To-Wheels Energy Use and Greenhouse Gas Emissions of Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles

The Greenhouse gases, Regulated Emissions, and Energy use in Transportation (GREET) model incorporated fuel economy and electricity use of alternative fuel/vehicle systems simulated by the Powertrain System Analysis Toolkit (PSAT) to conduct a well-to-wheels (WTW) analysis of energy use and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). Based on PSAT simulations of ...
